How good is the new Safari at blocking tracking?

I currently use mostly Firefox whenever possible, and usually run uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, and Cookie Autodelete, but with the recent upgrade to Safari that includes baked-in tracking countermeasures, I’m curious about how effective baseline Safari is in protecting online privacy. Has anyone done any studies of this?
