Say you were seeing a particular doctor and he has a medical history of your visits and what not which may contain personal information, but you will stop seeing this person as you don’t need him anymore, and won’t need to replace him. aka you won’t need to transfer your records to another physician.
Within the U.S. can you request that your information be completely removed from the doctor’s possession whether it’s in a digital or a physical format? since he won’t be your physician anymore and technically does not need the information for any reason.
is there a law against or that ensures your right to make such a request, or are you under the mercy of the physician’s will?
