So the employer recently started requiring palm vein scanners for clock in/out. It’s being hastily implemented without any explanation besides “just do it”. Everyone is supposed to get their palms scanned in a week. When you raise concerns about biometrics collection you get weird looks from coworkers and hr people. I seem to be the only one feeling uneasy about this. Is it really not a big deal?Looked into the scanners little bit an they use a fujitsu palmsecure sensor which outputs raw image to a computer then the vein nodes are stored on a server. On the other hand my country has a plan to collect palm scans, facial recognition data and fingerprints from the entire population in the next few years. So should i just give in now? I can’t see the point in fighting anymore.
