Right now I use multiple Firefox profiles for different types of browsing. I’ve come a long way since first creating these profiles however. In my default profile for example, I’ve gradually discovered more addon’s to improve my privacy, have made more changes to my settings, and have further tweaked my about:config settings. I’m wondering if scrapping this old profile and creating a fresh duplicate profile (transferring over my bookmarks, addons, settings, and about:config changes) would be better for my privacy, if there’s a chance that any old tracking cookies or other compromising bits of data are still hanging around in the old profile (despite me setting cookies and most other data to clear each time Firefox closes).
I’ve also been curious about a hypothetical, though impractical, scenario. If you were to actually use new Firefox profiles every single day (assuming you used a vpn and could keep the addons and other settings and about:config changes you usually use), how much extra privacy would this give you?
